New images
I have now posted to my website images from my trips earlier this year to The Palouse region of southeastern Washington and to the coast of Norway.
While my wife attended medical meetings in Spokane, I spent part of three days exploring and photographing the rural Palouse region with its rolling hills and farmlands in this important agricultural region of America. The single best location from which to photograph The Palouse is from along the road leading to the summit of Steptoe Butte, a quartzite butte that rises more than 2,000 feet above the surrounding countryside. There are many places along the road that offer panoramic aerial views that are especially attractive at sunrise or sunset.
In May, we took a cruise along the coast of Norway, traveling from Bergen in the south all the way to the North Cape and back. This was the only time that I have traveled north of the Arctic Circle. The small cruise ship stopped at numerous ports, but most of my images were made from the top deck of the ship as we sailed past islands and among the fjords.
The new images are found in the Washington and Norway galleries.
